Our Mission
Iota Sigma Pi and Women in Chemistry seek to:
- Improve the education and employment opportunities for those in chemistry and
- provide a supportive environment for personal and professional development.
Who We Are
Women in Chemistry is a group of undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Texas that supports the role of women in chemistry. Iota Sigma Pi is a national honor society recognizing women in chemistry.
What We Do
We seek to fulfill our mission through these objectives:
- Recognize and encourage women in chemistry-related fields,
- Provide networking opportunities with faculty and professionals,
- Support cross disciplinary exposure,
- Provide mentoring opportunities,
- Facilitate discussions on:
- barriers facing women and minorities
- issues related to balancing family and work
- statistics of women in science careers and degree programs
- history of women in science
- Provide professional development information,
- Encourage personal development.
